I don't see why people who have affairs suddenly have their leadership questioned. Roman General/Politician Julius Caesar slept with nearly every Roman Senator's wife, and he became virtual king of Rome (before he got stabbed).

@mooselord, different place/time. I completely agree with you in that it is someones personal business. However, in our culture it is a great personal attack because there is no defense other then admission of guilt.

@Hux, Idk, in the Roman period, adulterers were disgraced. Caesar was excused only because of his ablility. Men of similar aristocratic position who tried similar things were often exiled or disgraced.
As a side note, Caesar was accused of being the male lover of the King of Bythnia, something which he always denied--people made more fun of him for that allegation than any of his philandering.
