L.A. Teacher Calls for Mexican Revolt in the U.S.
I like how he references Che Guevara. Never mind the guy was a mass murderer in league with such great people as Stalin and Castro.
ben:
@MooseLord I think Che believed in communism as a means to an end (arguably better living for the people), and I think 'mass murderer' is an inaccurate way to describe him. Compare him to the CIA agents which orchestrated the Nicaraguan Contras, and all of the other violent revolutions in South America for economic benefit (often at the price of the common people).
ago
ben:
The difference between guilty murderer and righteous hero is simply your perspective... note: I am not taking sides, just showing that there are at least two.
ago
ben:
realistically, 99% of leaders want the same thing in their heart of hearts: to make the lives of their fellow countrymen better - it is largely a matter of opinion on how to get there (and who do you have to step on to do it).
ago
MooseLord:
@ben, yea I hear your arguments, but the reality is that Che was just an agitator--in Cuba he and Castro had called for the "proletariats" of factories to strike in order to spark the revolution. The proles refused not one but THREE times. The revolution that followed was ironically a bourgeoisie uprising. If Che was legitimately interested in helping people, he would have continued to study as a doctor. As it was, he just wanted power and attention.
ago
MooseLord:
furthermore, all the revolutions Che tried to start were out of his own self interest, including those in Africa--were they his countrymen? No, the African countries were trying to recover after all the Europeans pulled out, and he exacerbated the situation by increasing the intensity of several civil wars. Nothing but pure self infatuation, if anything he was worse than the Imperialists he preached against.

You can apply similar arguments to most religions. The great philosopher FireFly once said It's not about the man, it's about what the people need.

No Ben, there is such a clear difference between a guilty murderer and a rightious hero, that you don't know the difference only means that you will cause a lot of trouble if unleashed unto politics.
Che was an evil man because he liked killing people, and enjoyed the death of others without remorse which is ALWAYS evil. Always Ben!
Clearly Ben, you are unable to conceptualise peoples intents and only look at there ideals, that makes you the typical unemphatic leftist. ago

Prove that the CIA orchestrated all the violent revolution in South America for economic benefit, prove to me that they just orchestrated all of then. Prove to me that the difference between a murder and a hero is just an opinion.
Start substantiating and citing your opinions Ben, because otherwise i see no reason to repond further. ago

I'm assuming no one thinks the Irish were acting out of racism in the 20th century when they tried to rid themselves of British rule, even though Britain had "owned" Ireland since the 16th century (which is much longer than the U.S. has "owned" California.)

weaksauce:
He says that the racist white people want to keep them out of the US because we want to "exploit" them? No entiendo, senor.

MooseLord:
What's interesting is that CIA were present in the Americas only because the Latin American governments pretty much requested American aid, especially Colombia dealing with its Drug cartels which were also supporting communist coups for the sake of increasing anarchy at their own profit.
If you look back far enough, you'll realize the problem starts with a lot of Latin American governments, not U.S. intervention. ago

MooseLord:
@missmolly324 we actually paid Mexico the modern equivalent of around 457 MILLION dollars back in 1848, and paid off a lot of debts the Mexican government owed to private U.S. citizens. Oh btw, did I mention this was just after we kicked their ass? If anything, Mexico walked away far better off after losing the war than they would have if they won. And yet those suffering from white guilt still have the gall to say the U.S. "stole" territories such as California.
ago
missmolly324:
Gee, it's a good thing what's good for a government is indistinguishable from what's good for their people.
ago
MooseLord:
@missmolly324, I fail to see your point. Mexico wasn't really interested in their provinces in the first place. They were literally uninhabited until the yankees showed up. And even then there are accounts of the few Mexicans in these provinces fighting WITH the yanks AGAINST the Mexican government. Race is only relevant when it's convenient for it to be.
