Be honest. You know you tear up every time you see this. -- Pixar's "Up" is the first ever animated film—as well as the first ever 3D film—to open the Cannes Film Festival in France. The movie has been nominated for five Academy Award nominations including Best Picture.

This one stays on my desktop and blog! The warmest, most sensitive scenes I have seen in forever. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

Wow, thank you everyone for the props and superprops! Glad to see so many of you love this movie as much as we do. I think one of the reasons why this particular piece is so powerful is because of the music. The composer, Michael Giacchino, is famous for many movies scores starting, perhaps, with Pixar's "The Incredibles." Also, not many people realize that Giacchino composes the soundtrack for the TV series "Lost." Little bit o' trivia for ya. :) ~ Mike

The 2005 Oscar-winning French documentary "March of the Penguins" was originally titled "La Marche de l'empereur" (literally "The Emperor's March"). Several elements were changed for the English version including the narration and the soundtrack.

WTF?! Was the layout of that city taken from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater? Those cars were jumping like it was part of their everyday life.

@RyanHill_, it is! The movie from which the action scene is taken is called Alluda Mazaaka...!, in which the main character's name is "Sitaramudu / Mr.Toyota", according to IMDB. The movie from which the "Indian Thriller" scene is Donga.

I found this scene both awesome and hilarious. The Victorian style analysis was just over the top

I was really surprised at how good this movie was. I thought it was gonna suck.

I agree with Moose & Lando. The way it was put together was very clever.

Some info from the youtube comments:
"The cop's reaction to Benicio Del Toro during the line-up ("In English please") was unscripted and unrehearsed, as was Del Toro's rather strong reaction. The cop, incidentally, is played by screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie."
"This scene was not supposed to be in the film but because it was so funny they put it in.You can see that ad-lib takes over during the filming."
"according to the interviews on the dvd they kept laughing because benicio del toro kept farting.."
MattyMo:
very good I could see they were about to bust out laughing, but they kept it together somewhat

The "Colonel Bogey March" was famously whistled by British POWs in the 1975 Best Picture, "Bridge on the River Kwai." The tune is mistakenly called "The River Kwai March" because of the popularity of the film.

This is such a great scene. And what balls does Ed Norton have for taking on this role.
