Psychologist Barry Schwartz takes aim at a central tenet of western societies: freedom of choice. In Schwartz's estimation, choice has made us not freer but more paralyzed, not happier but more dissatisfied.
Ahcim:
People grand others freedom to follow there own ways because if someone: Like a liberal or a dictator would ever try to take mine, i would take his; maybe by killing him, maybe not. The irony is that it is the fascist types who support freedom of thought because without it they would be killed by the masses. So you get this weird mix of liberalism and authorianism.

MooseLord:@Ahcim, with just a superficial glance at this guy's topic, it sounds like he is doing a run off of what psychologist Frank Skinner said in the '60's. Either way, this is more philosophical and is aimed at introspection, as opposed to selling this idea on a wide market.
