Everybody is greedy yes. You have clothes because of capitalism? No. College would be more cheap without government intervention? no. Some good points, but many logical fallacies. I should of been there to have an intelligent discussion, not these clowns they purposely chose for propaganda reasons.

"Why don't people at Wal Mart quit?" wow, this guy is out of touch...its not so easy to get a job anywhere, and people have to support their families so they deal with shitty wages, degrading work, and no insurance to make ends meet.

CynCyn:
Exactly, it isn't. A lot of college graduates are having a hard time finding jobs in their field. That has nothing to do with them being a Republican or Democrat. It's failed policy.

Since the job of the government is to grow the economy and have as close to full employment as possible, then yes it's a failure of policy. American's have the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. But we don't have a right to jobs. Just because someone got a college degree doesn't mean they have a right to a job. Most people get jobs that have nothing to do with their college degree (and that's either a failure of the edu system or the student for not planning for growth industries)

It comes down to different principals, and world views. If Republicans believed that the poor, and struggling could also rise to the top, why treat them like dirt, and leave them out in the cold? Why try to cut education funding and protections that can help the inner city schools, which might help the poor rise out of poverty, if properly funded? Sure people can fight their way up the ladder of success, but they need some form of stability along the way. Some have no fight left.

Pretty soon we won't even need a "workforce" because machines will be able to do most of our jobs.. as a society, we need to grow pass this system that relies on jobs for survival because its uncessary, and concentrate our efforts on greater things (but that won't work with capitalism) if that makes any sense.... in any case, education and healthcare should be a right..like in europe.

TomSteady:@Natasha Schiff is not full of BS. FDR's policies actually exacerbated the Depression and turned it into a Great Depression. His policies made the depression longer and worse. see - and http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/...
CynCyn:
WSJ has a Republican bias. I am sure that you could also find an article about how FDR helped get us through the depression.

@ cyncyn you are right: case in point - History is just an interpretation of events, but I almost studied history in college..and i have to say the vast majority of historians and college professors agree with me.
