Uprising: Hip Hop & The LA Riots - SXSW 2012 Accepted Film
Though at times this film can be a bit melodramatic, it takes a look at LA's most infamous riot & examines how hip hop played a role in its creation. Though Rodney King (and the chaos that came after) negatively impacted LA, I'm glad it happened cause it popularized such classics like NWA's "Fuck tha Police!"
