Mirel Wagner - "No Death": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
Another discovery at SXSW that came out of left field was Finnish Mirel Wagner. I usually hate bearded, modern whiny folk like Fleet Foxes, but Wagner's folk melodies are entirely different- it's macabre, dark, & haunting. Sad and tragic without being cheesy or romantic, her songs stay with you long after her show ends
