Mexican farmers feel forgotten by politicians
With the Mexican presidential election approaching, politicians would promise anything to win the farmers' vote. This is because rural communities in Mexico make up 30 per cent of the population and, although the federal budget for the rural sector has increased, more than 60% of extreme poverty is found in the countryside.
