Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying a Redux hearing aid dryer

Which Redux hearing aid dryer is right for me?

Redux Ultra™ Dry & Charge dries and charges rechargeable hearing aids overnight in one step.

Redux Home Dryer finishes in about 2 hours and is the pick for hearing aids with disposable batteries. It dries but does not charge, and it is the only Redux dryer that is HSA/FSA eligible.

Redux DryBox™ uses patented vacuum drying and is ready in as little as 30 minutes.

Redux Veri-Dry™ is the portable case for travel and on-the-go drying.

How long does drying take?

It depends on the dryer.

  • Redux Home Dryer: about 2 hours.
  • Redux Ultra™ Dry & Charge: overnight. The first cycle can take up to 12 hours, and cycles after that average 6 to 8 hours. When the Ultra reactivates its Electronic Rice™, it adds about 3 hours.
  • Redux DryBox™: at least 30 minutes. It stops automatically when your devices are 100% dry.
  • Redux Veri-Dry™: 3 to 6 hours.
  • Redux DryBuddy™: 3 to 6 hours.
Do Redux dryers need to be plugged in?

Redux Home, Redux Ultra, DryBox, and the professional Redux Pro all run on wall power.

Veri-Dry and DryBuddy dry without an outlet, using a small battery and reactivatable Electronic Rice™. Reactivating the DryBuddy does need wall power.

Which Redux products are HSA/FSA eligible?

The Redux Home Dryer is HSA/FSA eligible. At checkout, select Gale as your payment method to use your HSA/FSA card. You can save up to 30% by using pre-tax dollars.

Other Redux dryers are not HSA/FSA eligible at this time.

What's the difference between Redux and rice?
Rice is a passive desiccant that absorbs some surface moisture but cannot remove moisture trapped inside devices. Redux uses active moisture removal technology to extract 99.9% of moisture from both inside and outside your hearing aids.Rice can also leave dust and debris that damages sensitive electronics.
